  • (a woman was murdered based on her support for gender neutral schooling).
  • (the woman are seen to be dependent on the male characters and are stereotypically 'stupid' in regards to what the men believe they know and can achieve).
  • (Butler explores how gender behaves in regards to these case studies. The magazine insights a un-stereotypical representation of men that can be seen in todays society. Zoella presents a typical reading of young woman that hopefully todays culture and society are aiming to step away from).

Social groups, in a national and global context, may be under-represented or misrepresented 
  • (lack of representation in The Bridge).

  • (they fail to represent anyone of other ethnicities excluding white individuals).

How far can aspects of identity be seen to affect the way in which audiences use online media? Within both Zoella and Attitude, the influential nature of these texts can highly influence ones identity and how they proceed to use online media. There are similarities between these media examples however, the affects of which audiences use online media differ. Identity can firstly be discussed in relation to the use of online media regarding socio-economic context. In both Zoella and Attitude, the media texts predominantly reach out to white individuals. Polysemic - when something can have many meanings. Verisimilitude -  the appearance of being true or real. Iconography - the analysis of visual imagery. Mode of address - h ow the text speaks to the audience, and involves them . Typography -  the style and appearance of printed matter. Conglomerate -  a thing consisting of a number of different and distinct parts or items that are grouped together. Patriarchy -  a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is reckoned through the male line. Homogenous - being alike, same. (e.g. a homogenous representation...a same/consistent representation) Idiosyncrasy - a model of behaviour or way of thought peculiar to an individual.
